The barrel and smoke box

These photos show the barrell and smokebox on the roller as there are at tpesent and the general condition. They have remained as built by Garrett's and other than a few minor repairs are the original parts fitted over 90 years since.

This is the firebox and shows the pattern Garrett corigated crown, which needs no stays to give it extra strength.

The top of the smoke box showing the extent of the corrosion now that the saddles has been removed. The corrosion is so bad that in places over the tube plate the metal is down to paper thikness.
